You Don't Have To Be Her

I love and support women..but I am not the one particular type of woman - the very sociable woman-in-power reinventing the world.

I have always dreamt of being a successful and bold woman at a young age and clinging onto the identity of “Girl Boss”. I fell in love with people’s success stories and slogans that scream “You can do it all!” and “Hustle until you no longer have to introduce yourself”.

Where was the warning label for this type of life?
This process can cause mental health disorders and relationship loss.

Here’s what God showed me when I strive to be like others in Isaiah:

Isaiah 1 29-30 - The feeling of not strong enough, not smart enough, not good enough.

And you will be embarrassed because of the garden shrines,
You have chosen.
For you will become like an oak
Whose leaves are withered,
And like a garden without water.

Isaiah 1 29-30 - The feeling of not strong enough, not smart enough, not good enough.

Their land is full of idols;
they worship the work of their hands,
what their fingers have made.

Isaiah 2 19 - Leading into isolation and depression when we don’t live up to the world’s expectations

People will go into caves in the rocks and holes in the ground

Isaiah 3 2-3 - There's no security found in identity

Every kind of security: the entire supply of bread and water,
heroes and warriors,
judges and prophets,
fortune-tellers and elders,
commanders of fifty and dignitaries,
counselors, cunning magicians, and necromancers.

Isaiah 3 16  - When we paint the wrong picture in the eyes of God

Because the daughters of Zion are haughty,
walking with heads held high,
and seductive eyes

Living up to people’s expectations and striving to be a "badass female entrepreneur" made me felt I was not enough and unworthy.

When we say, “I’m not strong enough,” God says, “I AM.”

When we say, “I’m not smart enough,” God says, “I AM.”

When we say, “I’m not good enough,” God says, “I AM.”
